Dano and Jana, Portland, OR

The last couple of weeks have been really really busy. I have been fortunate to shoot many great weddings as well as editorial work (more on that in a few weeks). Last weekend I shot two weddings. One here in New York and one on the West Coast in Oregon.

A few months ago when my friend called me up and asked me if I could possible come out to Oregon and shoot his wedding I jumped on the opportunity. I knew that Dano and Jana's wedding would be something out of the ordinary.

Old sailor tattoos and cupcakes!

Dano explained to me before the wedding that he would not mind if the images had the look of "the morning after". I feel that I might have failed in achieving that look. The couple just radiated a fresh energy.

Daniel and Allison

Daniel and Allison had their wedding ceremony at the beautiful chapel on Columbia campus. Daniel and Allison are both Columbia alumni so the location was perfect.

What the groomsman is whispering to Daniel remains a mystery. Last words? Advice? A joke? I'd like to know.

The reception was held at Manhattan Penthouse on 5th ave and 14th Street.

Everybody. I really mean EVERYBODY at the reception were exceptional dancers with moves that would surely put me in the hospital bed.

Chad and Pamela

The last weekend of the summer turned out to be gorgeous and I was fortunate to shoot two great weddings.

Chad and Pamela threw an exciting wedding reception at the Ritz Carlton by Battery Park. The hotel has amazing views of the New York harbor and Lady Liberty.

This was only my second time in seven years of wedding journalism that I got to photograph a Greek Orthodox ceremony. I loved the rituals and symbols, not to mention the beautiful icons in the church.

The deal is sealed!

One of the greatest moments was when the guests spilled out on E. 74th street to greet the newly weds.

The traditional Greek dancing presented plenty great photo opportunities.

I never did find out what was up with the money but I appreciated the action moment it created.

Towards the end of the evening the band lent their instruments to Chad and the groomsmen for an impromptu rock show.
