Wainwright House

The vast majority of the weddings I photograph take place right here in Manhattan but if there is one location I love to travel to it's the Wainwright House. The history of the Wainwright family is a long and fascinating one. The building itself was erected in 1931 based on a chateau in Raincheval in northern France.

The current use of the building as a non-sectarian learning center and organization of the United Nations started in 1951 with the intention to create a "place under one roof where people from all backgrounds and all beliefs and even no beliefs at all- could aspire for a greater understanding of the creative force of life we call God".
On the weekends the beautiful building and gardens right on the Long Island Sound houses some of the most amazing weddings with the help of Corner Stone Caterers.

During the summer I had the fortune to document several weddings at Wainwright House.

A quick last minute decision whether the ceremony needs to be moved inside since the storm clouds are growing larger by the minute. They crossed their fingers and stayed outside. The rain never came.
