James Gang

At a recent downtown wedding at Blaue Gans the guests were treated to a surprise performance by The James Gang.
According to the NY Times the James Gang are musicians, magicians and inventor of sorts. Their neovaudevillian act borrows from Cab Calloway and adds steampunk elements and hip hop beats. Their performance is... well, really awesome. They perform regularly around the city so go and check them out or even hire them for your wedding.

No they don't. What happened was that Jesse and his band of bandits stopped robbing trains after Jesse was killed by Robert Ford.

They regrouped in the 1960's sporting long hair, beards and rebellious mustaches. They could be seen in and around Cleveland clubs playing their groovy rock 'n' roll only to disappear a decade later.

The third incarnation of the famous gang started showing up at some East Village night spots a few years ago and is quickly climbing into the limelight as an urban New York City steampunk vaudeville troupe.

They are really the same thing they always have been. Wild, creative, rebellious and very dangerous. Only difference this time is that they make surprise appearances at hip downtown weddings. Robbing trains is so 1870's.
